What is acupuncture?
Stimulate Your Body’s Natural Healing Abilities
Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese medicine that has been practiced for thousands of years. It involves the insertion of fine single-use pins into specific points on the body to prompt a healing response.
Acupuncture is based on the framework of a complex network of channels and meridians that is responsible for distributing essential energy and nutrients to every part of our body. These channels can sometimes become blocked resulting in a lack of energy and nutrition getting to certain areas and lead to a build-up of waste. By inserting needles into specific points the flow in the channels can be corrected by removing blockages and redirecting the body’s resources where they are needed most.
While there are needles used, acupuncture does not involve the use of any invasive medical procedures.
Acupuncture helps to balance out the body’s energy and remove blockages in the channels by using very fine single-use sterilized needles. Acupuncture can be used to alleviate many different kinds of pain and treat a wide variety of conditions. Acupuncture is generally very safe and has no severe side effects when performed by an experienced practitioner.
